Educational Methodology
Educational Methodology is a discipline that approaches various issues in the field of education. It essentially asks “How to educate” while simultaneously asking the questions “Is this education? (What is education?)” despite the fact that these seem to be the antitheses of each other. In other words, it is the pursuit of the relationship between practice and theory in education. For example, in class research, we observe and record actual classes to examine the problems of how children form knowledge and the way teachers teach. The interesting thing about this discipline is that it allows us to reconsider the nature of educational practice and the theory and essence of education from the standpoint of education, where teachers and children mutually influence each other and achieve human development and self-formation together. Seminars will focus on research methodologies such as literature and field research methods, as well as data analysis methods, based on students’ individual interests.
