Introduction to Faculty Staff

I am exploring methods and systems for planning, designing, and evaluating school education systems focusing on educational planning theory, which is oriented toward theoretical and empirical research on analyzing the current state of education, forecasting the future, determining strategies, and creating implementation plans, as well as educational measurement and evaluation theory, which deals with evaluation of school education systems and educational institutions and quantitative methods of learning outcomes. In particular, my research focuses on the nature of “testing” as a system used in planning and evaluation, and the history of “testing” as a technique. Seminar activities will involve going out to survey high schools that are interested in high school–university connections and collaborations in Japan and abroad, and conducting social surveys to develop students’ ability to conduct professional questionnaires and quantitative analysis.
