Introduction to Faculty Staff

KOGA Satoshi|Associate Professor

Lifelong Developmental Science
We investigate ways to understand and support the mental crises that occur in each age group, from infancy to adolescence to old age. We hope that students will learn about supporting children with developmental and motor disabilities and their families (developmental clinic), as well as supporting adults with mental illness including addiction problems such as alcohol and drugs (in psychological clinics). In order to consider support for a wide range of generations and diverse needs, we are conducting research on “clinical movement methods” and “psychodrama,” psychotherapies that focus on physical movement and action expression. Students can experientially learn about these psychotherapies through mechanisms including counseling. The laboratory is staffed with senior graduate students that are certified clinical psychologists and licensed psychologists, with the aim of gently and enthusiastically supporting students’ active learning.
