Introduction to Faculty Staff

My laboratory studies the Self and interpersonal relationships (the way we interact and relate to others). In particular, I am concerned with the question: What does the Self consist of, and how does it function? My primary focus of research is how interpersonal relationships affect the formation of the Self and the personality (particularly in terms of relationships of attachment, dependence, and abuse). These themes are fundamental issues in humanity, and it is fascinating to be able to think deeply about oneself through this research. However, it is simultaneously a tough topic that requires a lot of preparation because of the level of self-reflection it requires.
